A New Angle on LP Reproduction
At its core, Delos is built around an architecture that finds the cartridge's angles in perfect alignment at all times. Doing so gives you improved low-level detail, dynamic range, transient impact, and presence. The problem is that conventional moving-coil cartridges don't follow these principles. They feature aligned angles only when tracking force is not applied, meaning that disorientation and directional flux occurs every time you play an album. Tracking ability, resolution, dynamics, and detail all suffer as a result. Lyra designer Jonathan Carr solved this fundamental issue by developing a body structure with an unusually shallow angle and pairing it with a unique, asymmetrical damping system. When tracking force is applied, the force of the stylus on the LP causes the cartridge's angles to assume a symmetrical shape, eliminating any discrepancies between the magnetic circuit, signal coils, and core. Or, put simply, better sound for you.
